Steve Trivett
Elder
Steve Trivett began
attending Freedom Fellowship in 1977 when dating his wife, Marilyn
Person Trivett. Freedom Fellowship was the church attended by Marilyn
and her family and where Steve and Marilyn were married in 1979. They
have been members 40+ years. Growing up, Steve had an ‘on and off again’
pattern of church attendance until personally experiencing God’s
forgiveness and accepting Jesus’s Lordship in his 20’s. He has taught
Sunday School for adults and children as well as Children’s Church and
has served Freedom Fellowship as an elder many years, including bringing
messages as a lay-pastor.
Steve
has a diverse work history of thirty years of carpentry, a decade in
Human Services and before recently retiring, capped off five years with a
faith-based non-profit serving minority youth in Richmond's East End.
Steve has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Averett
University. He also serves on Ashland’s Town Council and is in his 2nd
term as Mayor of the Town.
Steve
and Marilyn live in Ashland, have two adult children, and are blessed
to have three grandchildren living close enough for weekly visits!
